Over the years I have represented many, many motorcycle riders who have, through no fault of their own, been involved in accidents with car and truck drivers that, for one reason or another, did not see my client until it was too late. This emphasizes the fact that motorcyclists must proceed with caution, they must realize that defensive riding is one of the keys to their survival. Motorcycle injuries can be devastating. I’ve had clients who have suffered broken bones, brain injury and permanent paralysis in motorcycle crashes. None of these people were at fault yet their lives, and the… Read More

Despite conventional wisdom, every personal injury case is different. The facts of the accident are unique, the injuries are likewise unique and the manner in which the matter is handled must be carefully tailored to each particular case and client. There is, however, a certain framework within which personal injury lawyers handle their clients’ cases. It is important to remember that just as each case is unique, so is the client and that client’s needs must be tended to as though he or she is our only client. The following is the general framework within which we work – subject… Read More

How outrageous is this? CNN reports that an Ohio high school teacher is being accused of burning a cross on a male teenage student’s arm. It is shocking to me that the Mount Vernon City School District school administrators are just now beginning the process of firing the teacher. Shouldn’t they have fired him immediately? The teacher, John Freshwater, has been teaching eighth-grade science for 21 years in Ohio. He has been reprimanded several times for refusing to remove his Bible from his classroom desk while simultaneously teaching creationism and evolution. By the way, he used an electrostatic device to mark the… Read More

Please view the photo album with caution. The photos in this posting are not for the faint-at-heart. For that reason, I am posting only one picture here and you’ll have to click here to see the rest. Please show these pictures to your kids and tell them in simple, emphatic words, don’t text while driving. Texting while driving could lead to death, or worse.

Being bitten or attacked by a dog can prove to be one of the most devastating experiences of a person’s life. You may find that, after being bitten, the love that you once had for dogs suddenly turns to fear and mistrust. The emotional and physical scarring that result from a dog bite oftentimes requires extensive medical treatment, scar removal or reduction and psychological counseling to restore you to the person that you were before this unsettling event. There are nearly 5 million Americans that are bitten each year by dogs with almost one million causing injuries which require medical… Read More

How horrific it was for my client, Mrs. F., an innocent woman legally slowing down for a stop to be suddenly, and without warning, be rear-ended by a drunk driver. Otherwise in great health, this lovely lady’s life was turned asunder by the flagrant disregard of a guy who was more concerned with his afternoon cocktails than the safety of other people on the road on which he drove. The physical impact to Mrs. F’s car was so severe that it was deemed a total loss. In particular, the insurance company felt that it would cost more to repair her car… Read More

This video of the brutal strip search by male and female Stark County, Ohio deputy sheriffs of a young woman speaks for itself. I am so outraged and angered by what this video depicts that I had to post it to my blog. I hope that this never, ever happens to you or a loved one. What is truly galling is that the sheriff himself says that his deputies did nothing wrong — in spite of the fact that their own procedural handbook demands that strip searches be conducted exclusively by members of the same sex as the strip searchee. USA Daily summarizes the story as follows:… Read More
